A portion of the cost of delivering hospice services is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. The communities served by Cypress Basin Hospice help support our efforts through tax-deductible donations, memorials, thrift store operations, and fundraising events. With this community support, we are able to provide services to anyone whether or not there is a payment source.
Hearts for Hospice Ball
Gala event held on Saturday evening in February each year right before Valentine's Day. 2006 will be the 11th annual ball. It began in 1995 as the Poinsettia Ball and was held each year in early December. In 1998, the MP Tigers were in the football finals, so the Ball was postponed until after Christmas, which made it February 1999. We received such a great response to the change in date that the ball was renamed Hearts for Hospice Ball and is held every year right before Valentine's Day. Expect great cuisine catered by Carson House Inn & Grille and great music from the "Grateful Geezers" band from Houston. For more information about being a corporate sponsor or to make reservations, call the hospice office. The deadline for reservations is 2 weeks prior to the ball.
"Get Away & Play" Golf Tournament
May 2006 will bring about the 3rd annual Spring Fever "Get Away and Play" Golf Tournament. There are two ways to participate. You can be a corporate sponsor of the event with several levels of sponsorship to choose from or you can enter a team to play or both. It's a 6-person scramble but if you would like to play and don't have a team we will be putting teams together. So dust off the golf clubs, get the cart charged, and get ready for a day of fun and fellowship.
Jesse May Foundation "Smokey Eyed Barbecue"
Put on your aprons, bring out your grills, and join us in June for the Barbeque Cook-off! With cash prizes going to winners in their categories, the Jesse May foundation has chosen to donate proceeds to Cypress Basin Hospice.
Deck The Halls Chicken Spaghetti Luncheon
Plan on a day of shopping among the area's finest craftsman. This annual craft bazaar is held in November each year by the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. This event takes place at the Titus County Civic Center and is usually held on a Saturday before Thanksgiving. Cypress Basin Hospice provides a chicken spaghetti lunch, tea, and dessert to hungry shoppers & vendors as a fundraising event.
"Light Up A Life" Christmas Celebration of Lights
The holiday season is a time to share memories and remember loved ones, a time to exchange gifts and celebrate friendships. Light Up A Life is a special holiday fundraising event held by hospice's across the nation. Remembrance Tree Lights are purchased and placed on the special tree in honor or in memory of friends or loved ones. This year's tree lighting ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at Redfearn Real Estate located at 711 N. Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Lights are $10.00 each and proceeds help to fund services that provide care to patients and families throughout the year. Contact the hospice office if you are interested in "Lighting Up A Life."
